Gameplay
[edit]

Giant's Scar
Start Adventure

Asher Mir: Assistant! I have a task for you, but I fear your fleshy body is... insufficiently resilient for my purposes.

Ghost: Did you just say "Fleshy"?

Asher: There's a garage nearby, full of armored vehicles. Procure one.

Acquire a Red Legion Interceptor
Follow Asher's coordinates to an abandoned Red Legion vehicle bay.
The player enters the Cabal facility and proceeds to the garage's closed door.
Open Garage Door
Inside the player finds a quartet of Interceptors, fueled and ready for the player's commandeering use. The player pilots an Interceptor.

Asher: Now that you have use of this device, do you recall the Warmind Vault? The Vex are keenly interested in its secrets. That ends now.

Destroy the Vex
Incursion cleared
[0-100]%
Eliminate the Vex data thieves
The player defeats the Vex around Giant's Scar. A Hydra is called an "Inquisitor Hydra", while the Harpies are labelled "Inquisitor Harpies"
100%

Ghost: What kind of information do the Vex want from the Warmind Vault?

Asher: The Warminds had a special connection to humanities lost arts. Music, literature, film. The Vex may not understand this emotional frivolity, but they will use it as a weapon against us. If we let them

Hunt down the Vex
Follow Asher's tracking data
Terrabase Charon
The player enters Terrabase Charon and comes across a scene of Vex Harpies fighting the Taken who are being spawned by several Blights located in the depressed center of the area right over the Light seep (the blue stuff).
Destroy the Vex
Eliminate the Vex data thieves
The player clears the area

Ghost: We're making good progress. Um, I have a suggestion, though.

Asher: A suggestion?

Ghost: Well, if the Vex stole irreplaceable data, wouldn't it be good to, you know, recover some of it? Instead of destroying it.

Asher: Hmph. Recover it! Hmph! Yes! Yes. Well! Fine! Fine, do as you see fit!

Hunt the Vex
Follow Asher's tracking data
The player continues into Lost Oasis, finding several more "Inquisitor Hydras" located across the region.
Eliminate the Hydras
Hydras destroyed
[0-3] of 3
Destroy the Vex data thieves
The player kills the Hydras. Note that the Interceptor has the mass to, when boosted to its maximum speed, penetrate a Hydra's shield and make contact with the chassis, delivering massive destructive energy to the enemy which will subsequently be severely damaged or destroyed. As the title of this adventure is Road Rage, ramming, rather than shooting with the Interceptor's cannons, is the preferred method of dispatching the Hydras.
If the player's Interceptor is destroyed and the player is killed, they will be respawned in the vicinity of a summong pad which allow them to replace their destroyed Interceptor with a new one.
1 of 3
2 of 3
3 of 3
The player instakills the last Hydra via ramming

Ghost: I don't see anything of interest in our kill data so far, Asher. Are you sure these are right Vex?

Asher: What do you mean, "the right Vex?"

Ghost: You know, like. Are these the robots we're looking for?

Asher: The Vex would not trust Goblins and Hydras with such valuable data. You need to find the Vex Mind responsible for the incursions.

Ghost: You're really infuriating sometimes. All right. One Mind coming up.

Hunt the Vex
Follow Asher's tracking data
The Rupture
Viadon, Inquisitor Mind spawns in in as the player enters the Rupture.
Eliminate Viadon, Inquisitor Mind
The player takes advantage of the many ramps in the area to launch the Interceptor at the right height to strike the Hydra, and rams and/or shoots it until it explodes.

Ghost: We got him, Asher. Looks like the Vex did steal files from the Vault. Let's see... Some files about Mars, somebody named Ana Bray... And of course lots of data on the Warmind Project. Hmm. You'll have to take a look. I hope it's useful.

Asher: Hope is a logical fallacy. Only data leads to concrete solutions.

{End Gameplay}

{End Mission}

Trivia[edit]

  • Ghost's mention that Ana Bray's name was among the files stolen by the Vex from Warmind Vault-JYS may clarify the identity of the unknown Bray described in a Ghost Scan located inside the Vault, IO-JYS-2 which reads:
Ghost: "Looks like this thing used to store files. Someone by the name of Bray scrubbed the data."
This someone would appear to have been Ana Bray, a one time Guardian believed to be dead, and whose journal has also been found in the Tower Hangar.
  • Ghost's question to Asher "Are these the robots we're looking for?" is a reference to the famous scene in Star Wars Episode IV in which Obi Wan Kenobi uses Jedi Mind Tricks to fool some Stormtroopers into letting them pass after they were held up at a checkpoint. When the Stormtroopers ask about the droids acompanying Obi Wan and Luke Skywalker, C3-PO and R2-D2, Obi Wan responds with a wave of his hand and the statement "These aren't the droids you're looking for."[1]
  • It is possible for Road Rage and the adventure Arecibo to be run in the same public instance of Giant's Scar at the same time, although further activities in the Warmind Vault will be privately instanced and the adventures will not overlap. Arecibo is another adventure in which the Vex attempt to loot the Warmind Vault.
  • Related to Asher's statement that the Vex would use the Arts, Music, Film and/or Literature against Humanity if they could, a Ghost Scan on Nessus, NE-HAL-2 shows the Vex listening to and studying Rock and Roll from the Golden Age.
Ghost: "Even broken Vex gates are pretty interesting. This one is emitting radio waves. I can almost... okay. Somehow the Vex are listening to classic rock from the Golden Age. They're death robots with good taste in music."
