Somewhat disturbingly, Ravagers appear to lack heads—instead having a metal cap firmly affixed to the stump of their neck, much like Abominations.  They make repulsive gurgling noises when spotting an enemy, taking damage or dying, suggesting that they are making noises with what is left of their neck.  Given that Ravagers seem lack a head, it is unknown how they are able to see, hear or think, given that they lack visible eyes or ears, and also do not appear to have a brain.  It is possible that, like the Vex, Ravagers have their brain located somewhere else in their body.  It may also be that they are more like the Taken, with no life or will of their own but controlled by some higher power as mindless puppets.  In that case, it is likely that the Ravagers are controlled by some sort of higher Scorn master.

Whilst fierce, their censer weapons can be exploited as a strategic weakness. Targeting the fiery head of the censer will cause a Solar explosion.  The flames from the explosion will immediately consume the Ravager, while also damaging/killing nearby enemies. If the Ravager is killed first, their censer will remain on the ground—vulnerable to being shot and exploding in the same manner as when the Ravager was still alive.  This can allow for a sort of trap-laying tactic, wherein a Guardian kills a Ravager without shooting their censer, allowing other enemies to walk over the corpse, then shooting the censer.  The censer then acts as an explosive barrel, consuming the Ravager and nearby enemies with its raging Solar flames, while also setting off any nearby other censers from other slain Ravagers.
