Portal Wardens are Major Scorn Arc Chieftains that appear in the Dark City of Harvest.

Gameplay

Portal Wardens appear in the Birthplace of the Vile Strike. They will attempt to stop the fireteam from progressing though the use of their Scorn Mine Launcher and Ether Bind. Their only particular defense is high health, and can be dispatched quickly though volume of fire. Once a Portal Warden dies, the Resonant Portal it was guarding is revealed, and can be used to move forward with the mission.

One appears at the far end of two different rooms, a dark corridor filled with Screebs, and a wide area bathed in orange light with two branching paths forward. Heimiks, Warden of the Harvest will later force the fireteam to traverse these rooms during his boss fight, with the Wardens protecting the exits again.

During Nightfalls they can be replaced by Overload Chieftains, depending on the difficulty. The Champion's death will still reveal the portal.
