The Kingdom of Sorrow is a massive, Hive infested vault hidden away within the Menagerie of the Leviathan. Prior to the Hive's infestation of the Kingdom, this place served as a storage area for Calus's spoils, most notable of which was the Crown of Sorrow itself. However, after the Crown corrupted it's unwilling bearer, Gahlran, the vault then became a Hive stronghold where it's occupants began experimenting with some of Savathûn's power. It is here where Calus's chosen Fireteam of Guardians kill the possessed Gahlran, reclaim the Crown and drive out the entrenched Hive.
