Assuming by it's association with Golden Age tech and the intel from Sloane, the Ogre was created with the purpose of seeking out, gathering and securing the coveted technology within the infested halls of the Arcology, making it a priority target resulting in it's death and the reclamation of the Golden Age tech at the hands of the Guardian(s).
