Ioneion, System Control Flow, is a Vex Axis Mind of the Sol Collective, with the form of a giant Minotaur. It is encountered on in the Vex Network, where it administers a series of stress tests for various Vex operations. The Guardian, directed by Osiris, would take part in one of these tests, seeking to master the power of Strand, and slay the Mind along with all its troops.

Gameplay

Ioneion is the final boss of the mission Headlong. It comes forth after the player has defeated most of the preceeding four groups of Vex. Before engaging the Mind, it is recommended to slay the Malignant Vex in the area, along with the surrounding Hobgoblins. Ioneion will stay more or less in one of the corners of the arena, and teleport clockwise around it, in the opposite direction of the deletion firewall. It will fire upon the player with its Line Rifle, launch blinding Arc Slap Grenades from its left arm, and stomp the ground if the player gets too close, creating a damaging Solar field as well. On top of that, reinforcements will constantly pour into the room every time the Mind teleports. The player must be extemely aware of all of their surroundings to successfully take down Ioneion.
