Protector Knights are powerful Hive Knights empowered by the Darkness, which allows these champions to project walls of darkness for their allies to hide behind.

Gameplay

Protector Knights behave much like their brethren while they still have backup, often remaining far from the battle with Boomers, somewhere in the middle if armed with a Shredder or Splinter or attempting to run them down with a Cleaver. However, using the additional powers of the Darkness, these Champions can not only summon walls of darkness for themselves, but also project them across the battlefield for their allies to hide behind; any damage done to the shields will heal the Protector Knight. To remedy the threat the Protector Knight poses, as well as neutralize the barriers around the arena, a Guardian is advised to utilize Anti-Protector rounds or abilities to briefly stagger these tactical Knights and to remove what could be a labyrinthine of Hive barriers.
