Unbeknownst to his fellow Shadows or Yor, Zyre Orsa and by extension Dredgen Vale did not exist as they had thought. In fact, "Zyre Orsa" and "Dredgen Vale" was an elaborate disguise created by Shin Malphur. Malphur, who had dedicated himslef to hunting down any vestiges of Dredgen Yor, created this persona to play the Shadows of Yor from within, to plant seeds of fear among their ranks that "The Man with the Golden Gun" was zealously hunting them to extinction, as well as to gauge which memebrs of the Shadows were beyond the point of no return, at which point he would eliminate them.
