Like Earth, the ruins of humanity's former glory can be found scattered across the familiar lunar surface. Recent exploration attempts have been repulsed, reporting increased enemy activity, and even strange tectonic phenomenon. The City has since classified the Moon as a "Forbidden Zone,” open only to our most brave and experienced Guardians.

After years hiding amongst the Hive shadows, a new character, Eris, has come forth bearing an ominous warning: The Hive seek to summon a god, Crota, to destroy the Earth. Find her in the Tower to complete her quests and three new story missions, increase your Light, and earn the weapons and armor you’ll need to face what waits in the dark below.

The Guardians have grown strong, and now the Queen of the Awoken has called upon them to hunt down the House of Wolves, Fallen subjects once loyal to the Queen before their violent rebellion. Meet with the Queen’s emissaries at Vestian Outpost in the Reef. Hunt down their Fallen betrayers and earn great rewards.

===== NEW CRUCIBLE MAP: THIEVES’ DEN =====

This Fallen hideout, located in the calderas of Venus, has been cleared for Crucible combat. The hideout itself remains intact, complete with an idling Skiff and constant reminders of the Fallen’s presence, providing Guardians with a vital training ground. Thieves’ Den is a fairly large symmetrical map with precarious drops that offer alternate routes for those willing to risk the fall.

===== NEW CRUCIBLE MAP: WIDOW’S COURT =====

On the edge of the European Dead Zone, there are countless stories of the events that left this village a ghost town. Guardians now use its eerily quiet streets as a training ground chosen by Lord Shaxx. Widow’s Court is an asymmetrical map with both long sightlines and cramped interiors, supporting short and long-range strategies.

Codenamed “Black Shield,” this decommissioned Firebase is believed to have been a key defensive position used by the Cabal when they established their warbase on the surface of Mars. Black Shield is a symmetrical map with multiple chokepoints and an interior middle ground to hold, leading to frenetic encounters.

The Prison of Elders is a combat arena hidden deep within the Reef. Under the care of the Variks, the Prison of Elders will challenge Guardians in aggressive combat scenarios meant to test their teamwork and skill. Those Guardians who prove themselves against the Prison's onslaught will earn the riches of the Queen’s realm as bounty.

A massive Fallen ketch has been spotted over the Moon, and a crew of Fallen cutthroats led by the ruthless mercenary Taniks the Scarred seeks to plunder the Hive’s darkest secrets. Guardian Fireteams are tasked with infiltrating the ketch and defeating Taniks before he can secure his prize.

A dark shadow has fallen over our worlds. Oryx, The Taken King, is hell-bent on vengeance and is raising an army of corrupted “Taken” forces by manipulating the Darkness itself. You must find a way into his impenetrable Dreadnaught ship to defeat The Taken King before he and his dark army consume our civilization and bring our solar system to ruin.

Some scholars say that it was the vile “children” of Oryx that first crawled from the ashes, post-Collapse.  His brood grew quietly, but quickly enough, spawning armies of Hive loyal to their King deep within the caverns and shadows of our worlds. Among them was Crota, the god-Knight whose offspring poisoned our Moon.

Oryx, armed with a dark power beyond anything we’ve yet to face, is coming to claim his revenge.
