Oryx then blighted the system and targeted the [[Cabal]] based on [[Phobos]]. The [[Skyburners]] noticed strange activity and began to investigate; only for them to be Taken and made to fight their comrades. Oryx confronted the Guardians with a vision and declared his intention to kill them for killing his son. The Guardians barely escaped the base as more Taken overwhelmed them. Sometime later, the Taken Knight [[Malok, Pride of Oryx]] enacted his own bid to claim dominance over the remaining Hive and Taken with his mastery of the blights to become the New Taken King.
