Barrier Hobgoblins are elite Hobgoblin units belonging to the Vex, enhanced with barrier ablities.

Overview

Barrier Hobgoblins fight much like any Major Hobgoblin until they take severe damage. When this happens, the Hobgoblin will envelop itself in a dome-shield, becoming impervious to all damage while regenerating health, still firing on the enemies with its weapon while doing so. To prevent the Vex unit from regenerating, a Guardian should use Anti-Barrier abilities, such as Seasonal Artifact mods, to pierce the shield and stagger the champion while providing a window for damage. Barrier Hobgoblins never lose their heads.
