The Witch Queen Campaign

The Witch Queen Campaign is the main storyline of The Witch Queen expansion. It follows the Vanguard's exploration of Savathûn's Throne World as they try to discover how the Witch Queen gained the power of the Light.[1]
Overview[edit]
The campaign is comprised of several Quests, which may direct the player to complete Missions, Strikes and explore Patrol locations. At various focal points, animated and drawn cutscenes will be played to better convey the story. This campaign is also the first to introduce Legendary Mode. All the main missions of the campaign are replayable at any point, although some parts may be cut differently.
Storyline[edit]
- When they launch the game after 2/22/2022, or when they first decide to enter the "Court of Savathûn" node on the Director, the player will be shown the campaign's initial cutscene. After it ends, they will be prompted with the choice to play on Normal Mode (Be Brave) or Legendary Mode (Become Legend). Once this choice is made, the first mission begins (players can change their choice at any point).
- The Arrival: Complete the mission The Arrival. Unlike its replayable version, the player will go through the Ascendant Portal and arrive in the Queen's Bailey. After a brief exploration, they will find Savathûn, the Witch Queen, and defeat her, only to be revealed she was merely a Projection of Savathûn. The player will be trapped, and expelled from the Throne World.
- The player will be shown an animated cutscene, and after that a drawn cutscene. They will then find themselves at The Enclave on Mars, where they will speak to Ikora Rey, which will direct them towards the Relic.
- The player will awaken the Relic, and go through the tutorial on Weapon Crafting. They will then be prompted to speak to Ikora again, who will direct them to the next mission. They will also be given the initial quest of Season of the Risen, Rising Tensions, whose first step is the same.
- The Investigation: Complete the mission The Investigation. This unlocks Savathûn's Throne World as a Destination.
- At this point, the player can continue the campaign by speaking to Fynch, or go to the Tower Hangar to continue the Rising Tensions Quest. They are also given the Hard Evidence Quest and the The Witch Queen Quest, which becomes the main tracker of the campaign.
- The Ghosts: Complete the mission The Ghosts.
- Return to the Enclave to speak to Ikora, who will direct the player to the next mission.
- The Communion: Complete the mission The Communion.
- Return to the Enclave to speak to Ikora, who will direct the player to the next mission.
- The Mirror: Complete the mission The Mirror.
- Fynch will contact you on the radio and prompt the player to speak to him. He will direct the player to the next step.
- Complete a variant of the Strike The Lightblade. After killing the boss, the player will be directed to the statue of Oryx dueling with Akka, and collect the piece of the Tablets of Ruin therein present, concluding the activity.
- Return to the Altar of Reflection in Witch's Echo. There is now a portal that can be used as a shortcut at the beginning of the area. Interacting with the mirror will begin a small mission.
- Memories of Ruin: Complete the first proper of the Altars of Reflection. This mission doesn't have a Legendary Mode.
- Return to the Enclave to speak to Ikora, who will direct the player to the next mission.
- The Cunning: Complete the mission The Cunning.
- Return to the Altar of Reflection in Witch's Echo. Interacting with the mirror will reject the player's entry.
- Return to the Enclave, finding Ikora having a discussion with Zavala. Eris Morn will then direct the player to the next mission.
- The Last Chance: Complete the mission The Last Chance.
- Return to the Altar of Reflection in Witch's Echo.
- Memories of Loss: Complete the Altar of Reflection. This mission doesn't have a Legendary Mode. The player will be shown a cutscene at the end.
- Return to the Tower, at Zavala's Office, for another cutscene.
- Speak to Ikora at the Tower for another cutscene, then speak to her again at the Enclave to be directed to the final mission.
- The Ritual: Complete the mission The Ritual. An additional cutscene will play after the regular ending one.
- Speak to Ikora for an epilogue, and to conclude the Campaign.

- Parasitic Pilgrimage: Last step of the Quest "Of Queen and Worms". Save Savathûn's Worm.
- Preservation: Unlocked as part of the Evidence Board after the world's first completion of the Raid. Prevent the Scorn from using the Pyramid's technology.
- Altars of Reflection: Unlocked as part of the Evidence Board. Discover more of Savathûn's memories.
- Strikes
- Birthplace of the Vile: First completed as part of the Quest "Of Queen and Worms". Search for a way to nourish Savathûn's Worm. Later completions have different dialogue, focused on stopping the Scorn from using the Dark City's facilities.
- Arenas
- The Wellspring: Unlocked from the Trust Goes Both Ways Quest after completing the campaign. Prevent the Lucent Brood and Scorn from using the Wellspring as they please.
- Raids
- Vow of the Disciple: Storm the Sunken Pyramid and stop the threat trapped within.
