Calixte, System Ward Finality, is a Vex Hydra of the Sol Collective. Unlike many of its kind, it uses the copper chassis of a regular Quantum Hydra instead of a larger, oxidized body.

Biography[edit]

The System Ward Finality is encountered within the Radiosonde Power Plant, where it leads a Vex incursion to siphon Neomuna's power supply and weaken the CloudArk's defenses. The Guardian, investigating the issue with Nimbus and Rohan, encounters Calixte's Consumed Goblins short-circuiting themselves to maintain power-draining Confluxes. Eventually, the Mind decides to confront the intruding Lightbearer with its forces. The Guardian would chase Calixte throughout the plant, and would ultimately succeed in destroying it and thwarting the Vex's siphoning of Neomuna's power.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

The fight with Calixte begins even before the Hydra appears, as destroying the Conflux summons a Seeker homing for the player's position. They should quickly destroy it to avoid getting caught detained when the Mind arrives. Calixte fires its Aeon Maul at a rapid pace, summons reinforcements to funnel the player, and can unleash a melee shockwave attack at close range, even multiple in quick succession. Its contained size enables Calixte to maneuver behind obstacles and gain additional cover on top of its roating shields.

When Calixte's health is reduced by a third, it will retreat, and summon a Gatekeeper Wyvern to maintain a barrier over the room's exits. Pursuing the Mind will lead the player to another room with a trapped Conflux, where the fight will repeat anew until another third of Calixte's health is removed. In the final room, Calixte will fight until its destruction.
